Notice Board
These instructions explain how to make a notice board using the fabric of your choice. You can match the fabric to the room in which it will be placed. The notice board is relatively easy to make and you do not even need to sew in order to make it.
Materials:
- A piece of soft wood the required size (i.e. the size that you would like the notice board to be)
- Fabric to cover the board (a few inches wider than the board)
- Ribbons
- Staple gun
- Pins
- Thin
foam the size of the fabric
Method: .
- Cover
the wood with the foam. Instead of using a piece of wood you can use an
old notice board. Fold the foam around the back of the board and staple
at the back to keep in place.
- Repeat this process with the fabric.
- Arrange the ribbons on the board diagonally and at equal distances apart.
- Do the same from the other side so that the ribbons cut each other.
- Staple the ends of the ribbons at the back of the board to keep in place.
- Staple each join in ribbons to keep in place.
- Push
pins into the board and over the joins.
Tip:
Take a piece of ribbon, fold it on half and staple the open ends to the back of the board. You can then hang the board from this piece of ribbon.
When using a plain piece of fabric use different colored ribbons or patterned ribbons. When use a patterned fabric then use plain ribbons.
