* Paint in base color
* Paint for top coat
* Faux Glaze
* Natural/Synthetic sponge
Method:
1. Paint the wall with a base color.
2. Choose the color of your choice for the top coat.
3. Mix 1 part of paint with 4 parts of faux glaze. If you want the top coat to be more transparent you can add more faux glaze (and vice versa). If you do not have faux glaze you can dilute the paint with water and add a small quantity of liquid detergent.
4. Wet a synthetic or natural sea sponge, squeeze excess water and dip into the paint/glaze mixture.
5. Wipe excess paint off.
6. Lightly press the sponge onto the wall in random patterns.
Practice this painting technique on a piece of board before applying it to the wall. Cut off a small piece of sponge for corners and smaller areas. You can use a natural or synthetic sponge. The effect achieved with each kind is totally different. A natural sponge will create a more textured effect.
